How to enjoy watching TV with your friends through Virtual Reality

Did you know that there is a way to watch TV in Virtual Reality thanks to our technology?

Plain Concepts created the innovation project for Telefónica TV Virtual Experience. A platform that allows a new way of watching TV based on virtual reality allowing the total immersion of the user.

Can you imagine being able to watch a movie with your friends, but each one at home?

This is possible through this initiative, which has been a step towards the television of the future. Taking advantage of the potential of virtual reality technology to access Movistar + content and create 3D worlds that allow the user’s sensory involvement in them.

This virtual reality experience is interactive, as it can be shared with other users who join in the form of avatars with whom it is possible to talk via 3D audio. This whole project was possible thanks to being developed with our Wave Engine.

The application is compatible with the main virtual reality platforms: Oculus, Microsoft and Steam VR. The glasses required for viewing the content can be from different manufacturers, technical specifications, and prices, such as Samsung Gear VR (usable with a Samsung S6 or later smartphone), Oculus Rift, Lenovo Mirage, or HTC VIVE. It can also be used with Cardboard, using your mobile, and without any investment.
